Czech Meadow Wedding Shows You Support Local Vendors

Casual, dreamy, full of vendors and local artisans – today’s wedding in the Czech Republic has everything we love about a meadow wedding.

Located in the beautiful hills of southern Monrovia and photographed by Carol’s darkroom, this rural wedding celebrated everything about the region. Food, flowers and even clothes came from the surrounding villages! The beautiful and whimsical dress even included a special Monrovia lace that made the embroidery even more sentimental for our local bride.

Why are we so excited about all the local details? Buying flowers in Season, planning a pop-up menu and buying fashion and decoration from your neighbors not only creates an enchanting scene, but also helps to save the country! These measures eliminate the potential emissions associated with the shipment of exotic foods and flowers that can be avoided so easily by showing the fantastic flora and food of your hometown!

Planning

Since we both try to live respectfully with nature (not quite perfect yet), I tried to do as much organic as possible. For example, the flowers I chose for our day grew locally at the same time of the year as the wedding. Almost all the food was local and my wedding dress was also made from local materials by a local seamstress.

The dress and the outfit

My wedding dress was made by Sobje, local seamstresses. We also used embroidered lace, typical of the region of Moravia where the wedding took place and where I was born and raised. My hangers were made from this lace. Thinking about the dress, we thought that the wedding would take place in the field and in the tent right next to the forest. I wanted the dress to be a perfect complement to the environment. My groom had a suit, but he voluntarily decided to give up a tie or other decoration.

Favorite moments

Our initial dance. Since I like to dance and my husband doesn’t so much, I was happy to let him dance with me! Also because the ceremony was over so that we could relax and enjoy the celebration with the others!

The wedding day

We wanted everyone to have a great day with good food in a beautiful environment. Simple, no planned fun that we would urge our guests to do. We also didn’t want to be given much attention. We called for a beautiful sunny day with everyone we love. Smile, eat, dance and drink, touch the grass at your feet. We were lucky that the weather was superior than in our dreams! People were so excited about our wedding and many of them still remind us that it was the best wedding they had ever attended (so satisfying for both of us!).
